At Basis Bay, we remain true to our corporate philosophy of responsiveness to social and environmental issues. We believe in and support socially sustainable causes, all with the aim of improving the communities in which we live and work in.

July 2021 | COVID-19 Sustainability Effort (Food Aid)

With the current increase in the number of COVID-19 cases and the raising of white flags by many seeking help during this pandemic, Basis Bay has come forth to provide support to struggling local families. We currently offer two vegetarian hot meals daily (for lunch and dinner) which are delivered to their respective homes for a week or more as needed. This is currently targeted within the Klang Valley and has supported over 150 families.

Past programmes
We have developed anti-discrimination policies and made consistent efforts to uplift marginalised sections of society. This includes the regular donation of financial aid and technology (laptops and tablets) support for under privileged children in the pursuit of education. Over MYR200,00 has been donated to MySkills Foundation to help train, educate and transform the lives of children and young adults from marginalised sections of society.
Millions have been donated over the years to a range of social outfits and causes as well as non-profit organisations.

October 2019 | Basis Bay contributes to Business Times’ Children for Children Fundraising Event
We contributed to the annual Children for Children (CFC) fundraising and outreach event held in conjunction with Children’s Day in Singapore. This event saw 1,000 underprivileged children from over 50 schools across Singapore who were brought together for a fun-filled day at SEA Aquarium and the Maritime Experiential Museum in Resorts World Sentosa. The fundraising program celebrated its 11th edition that year, and successfully raise a total of SGD 204, 786 for the charity.

October 2018 | Basis Bay sponsors Pink Polo's Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Pink Polo Kuala Lumpur is an annual charity event held at the Royal Selangor Polo Club (RSPC) to benefit the Breast Cancer Foundation. The proceeds are channelled to help the foundation’s efforts in raising awareness of early detection of breast cancer, providing financial aid, support group and counselling to those in need, as well as organising activities for survivors and their families.

October 2018 | Basis Bay sponsors MDBC's Innovation and Sustainability Awards 2018
We were one of the main sponsors for the MDBC’s (Malaysian Dutch Business Council) Innovation and Sustainability Awards 2018. Held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur, winners were crowned at the MISA ’18 Awards Ceremony & Dinner by VIP guest Y. Bhg. Datuk Isham Ishak (Secretary General, Ministry of International Trade and Industry).

October 2013 | Basis Bay funds satellite tracking of elephants
We partnered with WWF (Worldwide Fund for Nature) Malaysia to save the endangered Borneo pygmy elephant as part of our CSR efforts. This involved sponsorship of the WWFM’s elephant conservation work in Sabah, Malaysia by funding two satellite tracking collars as well as associated hardware and software to the value of MYR50,000.
